The Academic Writing Course [In-person Course 2] In-Person / Online

This is a three-session course. You only need to register for one session to be registered for all three.

The Academic writing course:

The aim of the course is to develop your fluency and confidence in academic writing. You will explore key features of academic writing in English through practical writing exercises and discussion. While the focus is on academic writing (e.g. essays, reports and research papers), the skills developed should be useful for all types of written work.

The course will include:

  • developing an appropriate academic style
  • understanding assessment criteria
  • applying critical thinking in academic writing
  • using sources while maintaining your own voice
  • structuring paragraphs and ensuring cohesion
  • citing and referencing sources
  • writing clear and effective sentences
  • in-class writing exercises with feedback
