Digital Study Skills - In-person - Room EG06 Drysdale building In-Person

This is an interactive in-person session aimed at new students, the session includes a mixture of information sharing and time for you to practice using many of our systems and apps needed for study. The session will be run by the Student Digital Skills Team who will be on hand to support you and answer any questions you may have. 

This session will teach you study skills and how to use Office 365 to get the best out of your studies, including tips on the following: 

  • File management to manage your course materials and share files 

  • Using Outlook email to communicate with lecturers effectively 

  • Using Outlook Calendar for time management and to link your module timetable 

  • Using Word efficiently for essay planning and coursework 

  • The basics of Excel to create a study plan 

  • Using Teams for group work and collaboration 

Some students prefer to bring the device they will use for studying to the session (e.g. Laptop/tablet), however, there will be computers available in the room.
